The musical was commissioned by Robyn Goodman, the producer of Avenue Q, andpenned by Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen, who sought to create a heightened satire of American life that spoke to the state of American political culture at its best and its worst. Apartment 40C at St James Studio

 The Haunting New Musical by Ray Rackham & Tom Lees transfers to the West End at the St. James Studio for one week only, from 6th to 12th April 2015

Critically acclaimed new musical ‘Apartment 40C’ arrives at the St. James Studio after a sell-out run at the London Theatre Workshop.  Featuring a string of haunting melodies and lyrics by London Theatre Workshop’s Artistic Directors, Ray Rackham (book and lyrics) and Tom Lees (music), ‘Apartment 40C’ returns by popular demand.  The production has been re-worked and more songs have been added to the exquisitely written book and score.

Told over the course of one evening, this sophisticated bitter-sweet story examines decades of love, happiness, regret and loss. The emotionally powerful lyrics and melodies engage on every level to reveal how fate, change and choice play out within any past and present relationship.  Everyone will identify with one of the characters.

The cast includes Alex Crossley (Katie), Alex James Ellison (Eddie), Peter Gerald (Edward), Nova Skipp (Kathryn) and Lizzie Wofford (Kate); all reprising the roles they originated at London Theatre Workshop in 2014. They are joined by Johnjo Flynn, cast as Ed.

Ray Rackham and Tom Lees are the team behind London Theatre Workshop’s inaugural production of Adam Gwon’s ‘Ordinary Days’. They were nominees for Best Director of a New Production of a Play or Musical (Rackham) and Best Musical Director of a Fringe Musical (Lees) at last year’s BroadwayWorld Awards for ‘Ordinary Days’, which itself was nominated in the Best Musical category at both the BroadwayWorld and Off-West End Theatre Awards.

Dial Medicine For Murder

Emma Brünjes Productions is proud to present the world premiere of Dial Medicine For Murder presented by Dr Harry Brünjes and Dr Andrew Johns – a fascinating hour spent dissecting the notorious careers of the two most infamous physicians of the twentieth century.

John Bodkin Adams and Harold Frederick Shipman were both British doctors.  They were also both serial killers

Shipman was found guilty of 15 murders on 31st January 2000 (a later inquiry went on to find that he was actually one of the most prolific serial killers in recorded history). Bodkin Adams was never convicted of murder in his lifetime and died a free man aged 84 when complications set in after a fall whilst out shooting. Shipman hung himself in his prison cell in January 2004 just one day before his 58th birthday.

Dr Harry Brünjes and Dr Andrew Johns met when they were both medical students at Guy’s Hospital.  Harry then spent sixteen years as a clinician before transferring effectively to the City whilst Andrew became one of the leading forensic psychiatrists in the UK and has given evidence at least 100 times in murder trials including the Harold Shipman enquiry.

Bizarrely Harry was a junior doctor at Eastbourne Hospital when Bodkin Adams was an in patient and where he died in 1983. Bodkin Adams was also a frequent visitor to Folkington Manor in the 1950s where Harry now lives.  .

When they meet on a beach, it is the start of a relationship that will define their lives. What they don’t realise is that it will only last one summer, and it will be sixty years until they meet again.

When they do meet, not only are they are still in love, they also decide to get married. But what was the secret that caused them to split up?
