Directed by Ray Rackham, with Musical Direction by Thomas Lees; the creative partnership responsible for London Theatre Workshop’s Offie nominated production of Ordinary Days.

The recipient of the 2012 Brighton Festival prize of ‘Artistic Excellence’, Just Another Love Story celebrates, questions and explores the concept of love; through the songs written by Broadway’s foremost composer-lyricist, Stephen Sondheim.

Just Another Love Story promises to delight audiences new to the songs as much as the die-hard Sondheim aficionado.

When You Say Goodbye

6 August – 23 August, 2014

Against the backdrop of the Second World War, a new musical set partly in Wales and partly in France.

Featuring the songs of Harry Parr Davies with songs by Marguerite Monnot

Some of the songs will be familiar, but many are waiting to be rediscovered.

Born in South Wales in 1914, Harry Parr Davies was a prolific songwriter who wrote for Gracie Fields, George Formby, Jessie Matthews, Jack Buchanan and many other stars of the day. He had a number of musicals produced in the West End including THE LISBON STORY at the London Hippodrome and DEAR MISS PHOEBE at the Phoenix. His songs have an evocative naive charm.

At the same time, on the other side of the Channel, Marguerite Monnot was writing beautiful songs for her good friend Edith Piaf. Monnot later went on to write the musical IRMA LA DOUCE.

(Recently revived in New York)

“A charming piece of theatre and a lovely young cast bringing the delightful music of Harry Parr Davies to the attention of those of us who were unaware of it.”

“Playful and poignant”
